Module 10

Today I explored different wikis. There are some that I will use next year with my class, especially the booklist, as we are doing reviews at the moment so students can look at reviews and create their own to add to the site. I looked at the digital book talks, vidlit and speakabook that will also be useful for the unit on reviews and for other english topics. I also looked at wetpaint but had to do so at home as we couldn't get complete access at school so I don't know how it will be used at school due to this problem.

The digital looms map will be useful to access when programming in the holidays as it makes for easy access and all our programs at school are differentiated.

Module 9 Scootle

I have been using Scootle since the beginning of the year to access games, vidoes and images etc. to supplement the teaching for all KLAs. I usually provide the scootle code in programs for tec's to access. Today I learnt how to make 'Learning Paths' whereby I choose the scootle links that I want the students to use. Then I made a link in myclasses for students to access these. A great way to set activities for computer school time and for students to acces for homework.

Module 8

Today we added Google Reader gadget to our igoogle page so that we could access any changes to sites that we check regularly rather than having to go to each site. We added Blogs from our Web 2 course group so we can keep up to date with the changes they made. This makes it easier to see changes and keep up with changes. To add something to our reader we add a subscription by typing the URL.We can also choose to share these sites with others.

Module 6

This week we used bubble.us website which would be a great site for students to use to create mind maps for topics in various KLAs. We also learnt how to embed the mind map we had created into our Blog and into a gloster poster.

We also had a look at and created an account in gloster and began using the features of this web site to create a poster about what we have been learning in this course. The students would have a lot of fun creating creative ways to record and display what they have learnt in various KLAs. We learnt how to embed our poster into our Blog.

Module 7

Today we learnt how to use online communication networks to share favourite web sites. We made a delicious account so we could tag websites and organise them into topics for easy access. We learnt how to visit friends delicious accounts so we could tag some of their favourites to add to ours. This is a great way to share website with each other. If there is a web site you don't want to share you can make it private.

We also visited other people's Blog Sites and commented.

Module 5
We learnt how to search youtube, teachertube for podcasts and vodcasts that could used in the classroom. I looked up reviews that could be played and shown to the students for our English text type on review/ response for next term. We learnt how to embed a vodcast into our blog site.

Module 3 Goggle Docs

Today we learnt how to use Goggle Docs so that we could create documents, spreadsheets, presentations etc. that are then available on line so if we don'y have our own computer we can still access these. The problems with this is secruity and at school we couldn't access it because of filter rejection. This site would be useful as it can be shared with others and it can be editted by others.

Module 4

Today we learnt to use the Flickr site to search for photos that can be used for various reasons. We made an account. These photos do not have copyright. We can download our own photos to Flickr. This tool allows us to make our photos into various things such as, a puzzle etc. We are going to learn through this Blog how to make a link to a photo selected from Flickr.

We skipped Module 3 as we experienced secruity problems so we will do this next week.

Module Two

This week I learnt to create a Blog and to choose a design for it. I added two postings to my Blog, changing the font, colour etc. and added a picture bty browsing. After I feel comfortable using Blogging I hope to use it with my class so that they can use it to share their work and constructively provided feedback to each other.

Module One

Hi this is the first time that I have used Blogging. I'm doing this course so that I learn more about the use of internet sharing possiblities so that I can do this with my students. Obviously I have learnt how to submit a posting to my Blogging site and added a picture.

Last week I learnt how to creat an igoogle account and to add gadgets that were suited to me.
